Laser Dentistry What to Expect
LANAP allows for no cut, no sew, no fear treatment. The Millennium Laser reduces procedure length and patient’s healing time and greatly reduces the chance of post-treatment infections. The laser is highly effective for treating a range of dental concerns and is safe for use on children. The Millennium Laser can treat gum disease, tongue tie, and can perform many cosmetic treatments.
Some lasers are ideal for hard tissue treatments. Depending on your dental concerns, Dr. Ludlow may use a combination of lasers for the most accurate treatment. Dr. Ludlow also uses LANAP with the Periolase or Millennium laser to treat gum disease.
LANAP periodontal therapy uses dental lasers to eradicate the bacterial infection that causes gum disease. LANAP can treat gum disease and avoid the need for surgery. LANAP is specifically designed to treat gum disease. LANAP is less invasive and requires significantly less downtime than traditional procedures used to treat gum disease.
Drill-free fillings are now possible with CO2 lasers. Without the use of drills, many patients feel less dental anxiety when receiving a filling. Drill-free fillings reduce the need for local anesthetic and are more comfortable than traditional fillings.
Your gum to tooth ratio has a significant impact on the aesthetics of your smile. If too much gum is exposed, or too much tooth is exposed, the balance of your smile may feel off. A receding gum line can also lead to oral health concerns such as tooth loss. If you are unhappy with your gummy smile, Dr. Ludlow can reshape your gum line without the need for surgery. Laser dentistry can help you restore your beautiful smile and requires less recovery time and less discomfort than traditional gum surgery.
Some children are born with tongue tie. This may make it difficult to nurse and interfere with their speech development. In just a few minutes, family dentist Dr. Ludlow can correct your child’s tongue tie with minimal discomfort and downtime with the use of dental lasers. Many patients report an immediate improvement in their children after the tongue tie laser treatment. Our staff is specially trained to treat patients of all ages and are highly experienced with all stages of oral health.
The Benefits of Soft Tissue Lasers
At Holladay Dental Excellence we offer Solea soft tissue laser therapy. Solea is a non-invasive laser that Dr. Ludlow uses to treat a range of dental health concerns. Most patients do not require anesthesia or even a local anesthetic when being treated with Solea. Most patients are able to return to their daily life immediately after treatment.
Solea laser treatments eliminate the need for drills, needles, and sutures.
Solea helps patients who suffer from dental anxiety enjoy their dentist office experience. Fear of the dentist keeps many patients from receiving the dental health care they need to maintain the health of their teeth and gums. Solea is quiet, quick and virtually pain-free. Solea helps patients feel more relaxed when visiting the dentist.
Solea can treat a full range of dental concerns. From drill-free dental fillings to gum disease treatment, Solea makes visiting the dentist a more comfortable experience. Dr. Ludlow may also recommend using Solea for the treatment of tongue-tie as a less invasive treatment option than tradtional surgery.
